4th of July Safety Tips
I hope that all of you are enjoying this celebration of Freedom. While this is a day of merriment for many Americans, there have also been threats made by groups both domestic and foreign.
Whether you're enjoying a BBQ with family, baseball game, attending a parade, or simply relaxing, remember that being aware of your surroundings is the best way to keep yourself and your loved ones safe. This is the first step in noticing a potential problem before it actually becomes an issue.
If you will be one of the millions attending a crowded venue today, make sure you have a plan to get out of an area if things go bad. If you are with friends or family, set a designated meeting point outside of the immediate area in case you get separated. Don't forget to tell people where you're going, whether you're going with a group of friends to a parade or going off to hike a trail by yourself on your day off. Trust your instincts. Again, pay attention to what's going on around you.
Most of all, have fun and let your freedom ring!
